Everyone has secrets.
A dutiful wife. A dead husband. A lover presumed guilty of murder. And the billion-dollar, class-action lawsuit that won’t disappear, thanks to AI.
But some secrets are worse than others.
Lucy and Shane had the perfect marriage. Or the perfect lie.
On their tenth wedding anniversary, Shane dies in an inexplicable accident on his way home from work, and the smoking evidence of his environmental and class-action case goes missing along with his body.
Without a body, there is no closure. Without proof, there is no case. Someone will stop at nothing to destroy the evidence and pin Shane’s murder on his law partner and lover, Caroline.
While settling her husband’s estate, Lucy discovers their affair. Stricken by grief and confusion, Lucy fixates on solving what happened to Shane that deadly night. Now she must join forces with the one woman she detests the most, her husband’s lover and coworker, on a desperate quest to learn what Shane concealed from everyone.
Together, the unlikely duo uncovers political dynamite with a bombshell cover-up that could change everything people know about AI. But even armed with the determination to expose the truth, which could solve Shane’s murder and exonerate Caroline, Lucy realizes just how much she might lose, including her own life.
